Overview

The goal of the Environmental/UST systems technician at Dutch Oil Co. (DOC) is to prevent fuel inventory losses, pollution of soil and groundwater, and costly maintenance expenses by performing all required annual and monthly inspections/test/repairs of UST systems as instructed by the Environmental Manager (EM), and required by state and local law.

Responsibilities

· Maintain safe and healthy work environment as by adhering to (DOC) safety policy

· Maintain monthly and annual compliance schedules as defined by the (EM)

· Perform monthly site UST inspections as instructed by the (EM)

· Perform annual site tests/inspections as instructed by the (EM)

· Make necessary repairs to UST systems as instructed by the (EM)

· Perform necessary documentation for inspections/tests/repairs as required by state policy

· Assist (EM) in scheduling and overseeing 3rd party repairs to UST systems

· Assist (DOC) Service/Image/Construction departments where necessary

· Complete necessary training and maintain all continuing education requirements

Qualifications

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Candidate must Possess or attain all state required UST tester certifications

· Strong working knowledge of mechanical repairs and systems

· Valid driver’s license with clean MVR

· Proficient computer skills preferred

· General Knowledge of UST systems and components preferred

· General knowledge of Fuel systems compliance preferred

Requirements and Desired Skills

  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment per company policy
  • Must be organized and able to Multi-task
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work alone with little supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • Ability to be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
  • Candidate must be capable of climbing, working at high elevations and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to routinely lift over 75lb
  • Ability to work directly with other company personnel as well as 3rd parties
