The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the HR department and ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies and programs. This role combines strategic and operational responsibilities, supporting both the tactical execution of HR tasks and the development of strategic initiatives. This role currently reports to the Corporate Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor HR staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance and professional development.
- Employee Relations: Address and resolve complex employee relations issues, provide advice on conflict resolution, and support employee engagement initiatives.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate selection, interviews, and onboarding of new employees.
- Performance Management: Manage the performance review process, provide training on performance management tools, and ensure timely completion of performance appraisals.
- Compliance and Policy Development: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Benefits Administration: Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including open enrollment and resolving employee inquiries.
- HR Metrics and Reporting: Develop and analyze HR metrics to monitor the effectiveness of HR programs and support strategic decision-making.
- Organizational Development: Assist in the development and implementation of organizational development initiatives, including training and development programs and succession planning.
- Budget Management: Assist in managing the HR budget and ensuring cost-effective HR operations.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the HR Director to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and benefits administration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HR software (preferably UKG) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align HR initiatives with organizational goals.
